Feels great. Power and control is great.
I like the paddle but had to adjust the sweet spot with some lead tape to get it just right. Made all the difference.
The NXT GEN E paddle is exceptional. Creating a gen 4 foam paddle with a gen 3 honeycomb feel is very difficult to do. But the NXT GEN Hydra achieves all that but even better in my opinion. The foam core absorbs the ball giving a bit of a plush feel with enough firmness to place shots where you want them to go and with the amount of pace you want. The surface is very gritty and combined with the dwell, imparts lots of spin. Power and pop are more than adequate for drips, drives, counters and speed ups yet resets are effortless.
This paddle has all the feel and feedback that is missing with so many other foam paddles and still has power, pop, spin and the durability of a foam paddle. This has to be one of the best paddles of 2026 so far and a legit POTY candidate.
After adding 2g of tungsten on each side at 3 and 9 o'clock positions, I can feel stronger drive power. I like the paddle. Elongated handle is good for my double hand backhand return.
This paddle truly saved my life. My paddle snapped while I was out paddling boarding, and the only one I had left was my NXT Hydra. Its large sweet spot and incredible power gave me the strength I needed to paddle all the way back to shore safely.
